Roshni and Chandrashekar, a married couple, attended a 2 Saturday sambhaaShaNa workshop in March, and have been attending the weekly bhaaShaa vargaH at the Temple since then. 

 

"When we heard about "Spoken Sanskrit", it sounded [both] exciting and overwhelming at the same time.  We had always associated Sanskrit with Shlokas. This was a new experience. During the two-days [of the workshop] we learnt a lot. It was fun, with lot of interaction.

Just before the workshop, we met the teachers for the first time. We were thoroughly impressed by the fact that they were talking in Sanskrit to each other. After the classes, we feel we have made a small but definite step towards getting there [being able to speak  fluently].  We are now able to speak small sentences with each other. We look forward to the rest of the classes.
