Our Projects

As part of our efforts to bring out the Samskritam in more people, families and communities, we undertake various activitiies.  Over and above the spoken Samskritam classes, we organize Shloka recitation competition for children as part of our 'vasanta utsava' - spring festival.  Shibiram - Family camps and Youth camps - have become annual features that families include in the planning of their family vacation happening through the summer.  Vishwa Samskrita Dinam - World Sanskrit Day is celebrated as part of our Fall Festival, where students show-off their yearly progress .  Gita Jayanti, Sankaraanti Utsava are all opportunities to get together and be involved with some of the ancient works in Samskritam.

Check out the Gallery under the various categories for glimpses into these events.

Just as nobody can rest on their laurels, so also Samskrita literature.  While Valmiki and Kalidasa are poets beyond compare, contemporary works are essential to sustain the interests of the current youth.  To this end, periodicals are published.  Sarasvati Seva is an effort to translate works from other languages into SamskritamBalakendram involves children in fun activities in Samskritam.  With Samskritam adopted by more and more families Samskrita Griham (households with Samskritam as their mother-toungue) and Samskrita Gramam (a whole community of Samskrita Griham) have become a reality rather than mere wishful thinking.
