Natvam is the process by which the 'na' as in 'nakhaH' (meaning fingernail) changes to 'Na' as in the name of the demoness 'shuurpaNakhA', under some conditions. The author explains the most commonly used Natvam related suutras with plenty of examples and counter-examples. NijantaH is the causal form of a verb. The author explains in simple Sanskritam with plenty of examples, the formation of NijantaH, and the operating rules governing the case endings (vibhaktiH) when the causal form of a verb is used. The Natva-Nijantam suutras have been found to be difficult to grasp by many students and this was the motive for writing a separate book on this subject. This book is highly practical and is invaluable for students who wish to develop writing skills in Samskritam. A set of graded exercises and answers make this book especially useful for students. This book is suitable for an intermediate or advanced level student who can read and understand simple Samskritam. |
